During the renovation of the permanent exhibition, we offer an exclusive look behind the scenes of the museum with the "Only now!" format: visitors can discover the heart of the museum, selected depots: Where and how are the objects stored? How and why does the Haus der Geschichte collect?
There is a lot of science, strategy and high-tech in a museum depot. Discover this hidden world!
During public and bookable guided tours, you can expect to see meaningful objects and their stories, such as the alien figure from the film of the same name or the flood-damaged grand piano from the Dresden Semperoper. You will see advertising signs and electrical appliances, machines, sculptures, games and pinball machines that tell stories.
From September 17, 2024, we will open our museum depot in the Haus der Geschichte to visitors.
